Born in 1975 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
She graduated from the Department of Japanese Language at Tbilisi University and studied Film making at the Georgian State Institute of Theatre and Film.
She made shorts that were screened at numerous international film festivals and also awarded. The selection of her works lists the shorts The Neighbors (2001), Where to? (2002) And The Window (2005), as well as the documentary Stalber – Story of Ruins.
Her recent feature film, social drama SUSA was selected for Berlinale International Film Festival 2010, Rotterdam, San Francisco, Buenos Aires, Montreal and other, overall 22 international film festivals and received 2 Grand-Prix, 1 Best Director, 1 Best Actor and 1 Special Prize. She is actively involved in film making as director, producer and editor.
